  • Breakfast is included throughout the trip and all meals are included for the two nights camping at Everest Base Camp. In the tea-houses breakfast will be a set menu usually consisting of porridge and toast. Any additional items that are not included in the set menu should be ordered and paid for separately. Please allow £25 - £35 per day for other meals and drinks on trek and in Kathmandu. We do not include lunch and dinner in the teahouses, allowing you to choose what you want to eat and when. The menus in the lodges are varied, ranging from traditional Nepalese dhal bhat to pizza and apple pie. Please note that if you buy imported food and drink whilst on trek you will spend more than the above amount as both are very expensive in the Everest region. During the two nights camping all food is included and will be prepared by an expedition cook. Trekkers usually sit in a different dining tent to climbers as the climbers will be preparing for their summit attempt.

Route 18 daagse rondreis Everest Base Camp Trek - Expedition Departures

Taking us to the most iconic base camp of all, at the foot of the greatest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (8848m), this is one of the world's classic treks. This special departure has the added excitement of camping at Base Camp itself for two nights; a magnificent setting at the foot of the Khumbu Ice Fall, at a time when it will be bustling with expedition parties preparing for their summit attempts. The journey to Base Camp passes through Sherpa country and allows time to acclimatise before reaching the spectacular high altitude scenery: the incredible monastery at Thyangboche, views of Ama Dablam, Everest and other mighty Himalayan peaks.

  1. Dag 1 - Start Kathmandu.
  2. Dag 2 - Short but spectacular flight to Lukla (2800m); trek to Phakding.
  3. Dag 3 - Follow the Dudh Kosi and ascend to Namche Bazaar, with time to explore the Sherpa villages.
  4. Dag 4 - Acclimatisation walk to Kunde and Khumjung; descend to Kyanjuma.
  5. Dag 5 - Trek through the Sherpa heartland to the monastery at Thyangboche for superb mountain views.
  6. Dag 6 - Continue up the Khumbu Valley and then the Imja Valley to Dingboche.
  7. Dag 7 - Spend the day at Dingboche for acclimatisation.
  8. Dag 8 - Continue the ascent to Lobuje.
  9. Dag 9 - Follow the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep.
  10. Dag 10 - Continue along the lateral moraine to Everest Base Camp. Camp overnight.
  11. Dag 11 - Explore the area around Everest Base Camp. Camp overnight.
  12. Dag 12 - Long descent to Pheriche.
  13. Dag 13 - Retrace our steps to Kyanjuma.
  14. Dag 14 - Descend through Namche to Monzo.
  15. Dag 15 - Continue to Lukla.
  16. Dag 16 - Fly to Kathmandu.
  17. Dag 17 - Free day in Kathmandu to explore the city.
  18. Dag 18 - End Kathmandu.
