My career in tourism started in 2006 when we purchased a guest house on Leisure Isle, Knysna, along the Garden Route where we lived for 11 years, focusing largely on Garden Route Tours. I have since completed accreditation for 7 provinces in South Africa, moved to Cape Town (now based in Stellenbosch, the heart of the Winelands) and have conducted a number of multi-day overland tours through the Panorama Route, Kruger National Park, Swaziland, St Lucia in KZN, the Drakensberg, Lesotho, the Eastern and Western Cape, with some additional tours (including motor bike tours) to Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. I am truly passionate about this industry. In my eighteen years in the industry I have gained a wealth of experience and believe that my knowledge is good, although one can never stop learning. I relate well to people of all walks of life, having worked with a variety of nationalities, ages and personalities, from “backpackers” to founder members of Google, New York socialites, serious business people, retirees, active golfers, runners, walkers, hikers and cyclists, adrenalin junkies, foodies … and those who just want to have fun. It is such a pleasure to share and introduce our beautiful country to visitors, and a privilege to be a part of special experiences in their lives.
