Route 11 daagse Groepsrondreis Uzbekistan Uncovered
Who can mention Samarkand, Bukhara or Khiva without conjuring images of the romance and intrigue of the Great Game, of skull caps and silk sashes, of fabulously coloured mosaic domes and minarets, or of a newly arrived caravan train of traders just out of the deserts of the east? This journey to the heart of Central Asia takes us back through the centuries but also gives us an insight into Uzbekistan's more recent times. 2025 & 2026 itinerary From 2025, this trip will be 15 days long and visit extra destinations including the Nurata Mountains where we'll spend a night in a homestay in a traditional village; Karakalpakstan - where we'll visit the Savitsky Museum of Soviet avant-guarde art in Nukus and remote Moynaq where we'll see the eerie legacy of the Aral Sea disaster. We'll also take a day trip from Tashkent to the Chimgan Mountains. See the "2025 & 2026" tab in the itinerary section for full details. The 28 September 2024 departure of this trip features extra inclusions to mark the occasion: a visit to the world’s second largest collection of Russian avant-garde art at the Savitsky Museum in Nukus, a local meal at Ayaz Kala and a special-edition Exodus kitbag. This itinerary is valid for departures from 1 Jan, 2024 to 31 Dec, 2024. For other departure dates, please contact us.
